q &bull bel: dark chocolate crispie rice wafer bar

the dark chocolate wafer bar is wonderfully crispy and it is coated in belgian dark chocolate. there are two bars to a pack and it is just impossible to save one for later. this is a perfect dark, crispy, flaky bar.

the founder created the chocolate bar company, promoting no chemicals and artificial ingredients, for his children. the founder is also a romantic and named it after his wife isabel.

there is no doubt that the quality is top notch and you can taste the love put into this product.

trader joe's: swiss milk chocolate with 30% whole hazelnuts

delicious! trader von liesl claims that the bar has "incomparable flavor" yet, somehow it tastes just like villars chocolate with hazelnuts. do tell... the bar even has the matching edelweiss imprint on the chocolate. if you are going to repackage and call it your own, demonstrate a tad bit more contrast, give credit, or get a new copywriter.

fresh & easy: decaffeinated chocolate flavored black tea

hmmm.... it smells like chocolate and it tastes like black tea - - - this is the strangest brew ever. i absolutely love fresh & easy but this product is completely useless.

if you want a chocolate beverage to knock your socks off, try the german chocolate cake cocktail!

apex: brownie delight protein bar

i have had my share of protein bars and after much consideration i do not want to have one ever again.

alas, yesterday, the receptionist gave me an apex brownie delight bar coated with real reese's peanut butter chips... the "individually hand-made" bar tasted like a cocolite peat moss brick with gritty reese's pieces in the mix.

the label proudly claims to have 240 calories, 13 grams of protein, 28 grams of carbs, and 8 grams of fat.

i am not a nutritionist, but I can do math... instead of having tar residue in my mouth for 24 hours, i would much rather have a chicken breast and a quarter of a new tree 73% cocoa bar totaling 191 calories, 18.1 grams of protein, 9.5 grams of carbs (that is a very big difference from apex's 28 grams), and 9 grams of fat.

last night, when you came back into my life, i was unsure about letting you in... but you tempted me. you just had to wear that flashy pink outfit with sparkles and tell me that you have changed...

having grown up together, our history has been long, fun, and complex. i still remember the good times when we made s'mores at camp; the funny times when you bumped into that guy's peanut butter; and the scary times when i snuck you into china.

last night's moment we shared on the sofa was full of suspense. when i started opening your package, i knew i should have stopped - - - but i had to keep going...

as we started kissing, i noticed that you did not have any distinctive flavor. you were just too sweet and you left a weird sugary taste in my throat. by the way, what was with that nut residue? it felt like you slipped me a peanut m&m.

sorry hershey, but i am still not ready for us to get back together... you pretended to be something you are not or maybe it is the other's in my life who take me on adventures and find ways to indulge me.

lacasa: conguitos

conguitos are tasty chocolate covered nuts. these nuts are not the bio modified nuts we have here.... i am sure that is why peanut butter sandwiches cannot be packed in lunches anymore. the spanish nuts are crunchy, small, roasty, and packed with flavor. the chocolate is dark and not as sweet compared to peanut m&m's. the pack came with the company conguito mascot container... it holds the chocolate so they don't melt in your hand. this company has been around since 1852.

fresh & easy: belgian chocolate bar 72% cocoa with cocoa nibs

fresh & easy grocery just opened up a new store on hollywood boulevard. since they are a stones throw away, i had to check out their chocolate supply. i headed down the hill and found that the police had the store cordoned off because of oscar preparations. i was not to be deterred... i manoeuvered the car past traffic enforcement, used my parking karma, climbed the barricades, and went shopping!

to my surprise, i found a belgian chocolate bar (72% cocoa) with cocoa nibs. the chocolate is not superior but the texture is great. the crushed cocoa nibs definitely worked me over. this bar is perfect if you do not want to splurge and still want to maintain some form of dignity. take this bar to the movies.

dolfin: milk: hot masala from india

dolfin is quite a fabulous company. they put out some of the best and most interesting chocolate. i was expecting a very hot and spicy bar... instead, it was quite delicate with a very gingery fruit taste (you may feel that you have been bitten by a gingerbread man). the bar is richly exotic, quite comforting, and soothing. get it.
